We are delighted to unveil our new logo for the South Seminole Heights Civic Association! You've probably noticed our ongoing efforts to invigorate the association and strengthen our community through various events, including the recent repainting of our beloved street mural at Rivercrest Park.
With this revitalization, we wanted a fresh look, one more distinctive to our neighborhood, one that reflected our neighborhood's dynamic and inclusive nature.
Inspiration came from our mandala street mural, the first traffic calming street mural in Tampa- a source of pride as these murals now grace streets all across the city. Back In 2017, our community banded together to push the idea through bureaucracy and found artist Catherine Thomas, who used mandalas in healing art at Moffit Cancer Center. She created a design that captured the neighborhood's "vibrancy and energy" while being easy for all to paint. Most recently, our community came together once again to refresh the mandala.
Mandalas are representative of wholeness or unity, creating a sacred space, one a community can come together in.
Our new logo is more than just a symbol; it's a celebration of who we are and where we're headed. It embodies the vibrancy, diversity, and forward-thinking spirit of South Seminole Heights. As we continue to grow and evolve, the new logo stands as a visual testament to our community's bright future and enduring heritage. We truly hope you love it as much as we do.
